India a hub of semiconductor tech: How Semicon India aims to shape PM Modi’s vision

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Semicon India 2024 at at around 10:30 am on Wednesday. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.

PM Modi to inaugurate the Semicon India 2024

Greater Noida: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Wednesday inaugurate the Semicon India 2024 event at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. PM Modi is scheduled to reach the expo center via helicopter on Wednesday and stay here for nearly two hours. He will also address the gathering on the occasion. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also accompany the Prime Minister.

In accordance with PM Modi’s of positioning India as a global hub for semiconductor design, manufacturing and technology development, the event is being organised from September 11 to 13 with the theme “Shaping the Semiconductor Future”.

The three-day conference will showcase India’s semiconductor strategy and policy which envisions making India a global hub for semiconductor, according to an official statement. Several top leadership of global semiconductor giants and global leaders, companies, experts of the semiconductor industry will participate in the event. The conference will witness participation of more than 250 exhibitors and 150 speakers.

India signed MOUs during PM Modi’s Singapore visit

During PM Modi’s recent visit to Singapore, India and Singapore signed four MoUs, including on cooperation in semiconductors. The top companies of Singapore also pledged to invest about USD 60 billion in the next few years. Pm Modi and his counterpart Lawrence Wong also visited a leading Singaporean company in the semiconductor and electronics sector and discussed ways for collaboration in this critical industry.

Traffic diversions for PM’s visit

In view of PM Modi’s visit, security-related preparations and arrangements have been made by the traffic police in Greater Noida. To avoid any traffic chaos, the traffic police has made route diversion at many places on Wednesday. This diversion will be from morning to 11 pm on September 11. As per the advisory, route will be diverted at Chilla Border, DND Border, Kalindi Border, Yamuna Expressway, Jewar Toll, Honda CL Chowk, Surajpur Ghanta Chowk, Eastern Peripheral Expressway. As PM Modi will visit Greater Noida via chopper, entry of heavy cargo vehicles, medium cargo vehicles and light cargo vehicles will be restricted around Expo Mart on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. There will be no restrictions on vehicles carrying milk, vegetables, fruits, medical supplies etc. No restrictions will be imposed on the movement of emergency vehicles too.

On Monday, a helicopter reached Greater Noida from Delhi at around 12:00 noon and did a trial landing. On Tuesday also three helicopters of the Air Force will reach here and landing trial will be done. Police has tightened the security around the helipad. Special Protection Group and a team of ATS commandos have also reached Greater Noida.
