After being joint winners of the Touch 2 Twickenham competition, which had over 100 schools participate, Malmesbury School got down to the last two to go to Twickenham.

Pupils played on the pitch at Twickenham in the build-up to the England vs Wales Six Nations encounter.

Parents of the pupils also attended the event, while students were the flagbearers and sang the national anthem on the pitch just before kick-off in front of the 82,000 crowd.

Students also went down the tunnel, passing some of the English and Welsh stars in the minutes before the fierce contest which England won 16-14 after a nail-biting second-half comeback.

Malmesbury School PE teacher Tom Farmer said: “It was an experience that will never be forgotten with many memories made.

“Thank you Chris Sigsworth and Tim Holmes and their RFU team for setting up this event and all of the hard work put in.”
