Lucknow: Lucknow is set to establish a semiconductor chip manufacturing facility and a rail orbital corridor to enhance commerce and passenger transit, said defence minister Rajnath Singh.He was speaking during a ‘senior citizen dialogue’ programme in Triveni Nagar on Wednesday before his departure to New Delhi.“Semiconductor chips will soon be manufactured in Lucknow, with an investment of Rs 2,500 crore. Further, the state capital will have a rail orbital corridor to boost trade and transport,” he stated.During his interaction with elderly residents, the defence minister expressed admiration for the army’s remarkable courage in Operation Sindoor, mentioning that he had personally conveyed his appreciation to the military personnel involved.Singh emphasised that Operation Sindoor, which served as retaliation for Pahalgam, represented India’s most crucial anti-terrorism initiative and illustrated the country’s resolute position against terrorist activities.He highlighted that the operation was conducted with strategic accuracy, specifically focusing on military targets whilst ensuring civilian areas remained unaffected.
