TAYLOR, Texas (KXAN) — A part of a crane fell Friday during construction at the Samsung semiconductor plant in Taylor on Friday, a Samsung spokesperson said.
Around 1 p.m., a crane operator saw there was “a mechanical issue with the equipment he was operating,” the spokesperson said.
As the crane was being prepped for repairs, the crane boom fell “out of control to the ground,” according to Samsung.
A crane boom is the long arm of the machine.
No one was injured during the incident. The crane company is working with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to investigate what caused the fall, the spokesperson said.
No other details were released Friday.
