DMK shelved semiconductor projects: Former TN minister | Chennai News – Times of India
CHENNAI: Former AIADMK minister M C Sampath on Friday said DMK govt had shelved the semiconductor projects launched by AIADMK in Nanguneri and Hosur.
Responding to a statement by state industries minister T R B Rajaa, Sampath, in a statement, said during the previous AIADMK regime, semiconductor plants were planned in Nanguneri and Hosur and even preliminary work was started.But after DMK assumed office, the projects were shelved.
The former industries minister said foreign investments on semiconductors have gone to other states but DMK govt which was in “hibernation mode” for three years has now launched the semiconductor and advanced electronics policy.
Earlier, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami had criticised state govt for decline in foreign investments in TN.
