After surviving the Italians in Rome during Round 1 after trailing 17-14 at halftime, England Rugby returns to London and Twickenham Stadium looking to continue its successful run of international play.
A few months removed after nearly advancing to the 2023 Rugby World Cup final and eventually finishing third at the RWC, England picked up another win to start the Six Nations. Italy took a double-digit lead against England in the first half, but a pair of late kicks just before halftime swung the momentum. England took the lead early in the second half to beat Italy 27-24.
Wales nearly did the same against Scotland.
Perhaps no team played better in the second half in round 1 of the Six Nations than Wales. After trailing Scotland 20-0, Wales outscored the Scottish 26-7 in the second, falling by one point at home in Principality Stadium.
Now comes one of the oldest rivalries in international rugby.
The matchup dates back to 1881 and the teams have played 141 times. England has 68 wins and Wales 61. Wales has won 20 times in England. The teams played three matches in 2023, with England going 2-1.
