IIT-G develops ML framework for semiconductor industry | Guwahati News – Times of India
Guwahati: Days after the ‘bhumi pujan’ of the Rs 27,000-crore Tata semiconductor facility at Jagiroad, near Guwahati, researchers from IIT-Guwahati announced a significant advancement in the field of electronic design automation (EDA).
They have developed an innovative machine learning (ML) framework called ‘LEAP,’ which enhances the design process of integrated circuits (ICs), a critical component in the semiconductor industry.
LEAP accelerates the design processes by up to 50% and improves circuit performance, with a 2% reduction in output delay, without additional area for the circuits.
The facility represents a substantial investment in strengthening India’s capability in manufacturing semiconductors. tnn
