Muscat: The Ministry has floated consultancy tender for the development of the semiconductor ecosystem and support for the establishment of a Center of Excellence for Semiconductors.

This includes providing consultancy services related to the creation of a Center of Excellence for Semiconductors and Electronic Chips. The selected company must have extensive experience in managing similar national and commercial projects, in line with the scope of work specified in this tender.

The Center of Excellence for Semiconductors, a part of the Ministry’s efforts to enhance this vital sector, will contribute to achieving the following objectives:

• Development: Fostering the semiconductor industry in the Sultanate of Oman by encouraging and attracting new investments
• Support: Enabling digital innovation in the semiconductor industry
• Job Creation: Creating new opportunities in the design and testing of semiconductors
• Localisation: Technology transfer and localisation
