Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently convened a roundtable with leading US tech CEOs and industry leaders at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering in New York.
The meeting was part of his three-day visit to the US, and aimed to strengthen India-US relations in the technology sector.
The discussions focused on potential partnerships in advanced fields such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and biotechnology.

The roundtable was attended by prominent figures including Adobe Chairman and CEO Shantanu Narayen, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su, and Moderna Chairman Noubar Afeyan.
During the meeting, Modi emphasized India’s growing potential as a global innovation hub. He also extended an invitation to US firms to capitalize on opportunities within India’s burgeoning digital and technology sectors.
Modi encouraged companies to utilize India’s growth narrative for innovation
PM Modi stressed that technology collaboration is crucial to the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, referencing the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (ICET).
He expressed his commitment to transforming India into the world’s third-largest economy. He also encouraged companies to utilize India’s growth narrative for collaboration and innovation.
The Ministry of External Affairs quoted him saying, “Companies can co-develop, co-design, and co-produce in India for the world.”
Modi reassures commitment to intellectual property protection
Modi reassured the business leaders of India’s strong commitment to protecting intellectual property and promoting technological innovation, especially in electronics, information technology, and semiconductors.
He reiterated the government’s ambition of establishing India as a “global hub of semiconductor manufacturing.”
Additionally, he discussed India’s BIO E3 policy aimed at transforming the country into a biotech powerhouse and highlighted the ethical promotion of AI under the “AI for All” initiative.
