The state-of-the-art campus, equipped with modern amenities and designed for collaboration, strengthens Bengaluru’s position as a leading tech hub and reflects Samsung’s commitment to semiconductor research and development in India.

In a significant boost to Bengaluru’s status as India’s Silicon Valley, Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR) has unveiled its latest R&D facility in the city. Nestled within the bustling Bagmane Capital Tech Park in Angkor-West, this sprawling campus spans 160,000 square feet and is designed to be a beacon of semiconductor research and innovation in the country.

The opening of SSIR’s new facility marks a pivotal moment in the company’s ongoing effort to push the boundaries of semiconductor technology. With the capacity to house up to 1,600 professionals, the state-of-the-art campus is Samsung’s second office in Bengaluru, underscoring the city’s critical role in the global tech ecosystem.

The facility’s modern, open-plan layout is crafted to foster collaboration and agility among its workforce. It boasts over 60 cutting-edge meeting rooms, hot-desking areas for flexible work arrangements, and a range of amenities including a fully equipped cafeteria, medical facilities, dedicated nap rooms, and recreational areas. Additionally, transport shuttle services are provided, ensuring a comprehensive and holistic work experience for all SSIR employees.

Balajee Sowrirajan, EVP & MD at Samsung Semiconductor India Research, shared his enthusiasm for the new hub, “It is an exciting moment for us as this new facility in Bengaluru embodies our commitment to expanding our footprint in India.” He further highlighted the strategic importance of the new R&D center in enhancing Samsung Semiconductor’s global innovation ecosystem and opening new opportunities.

Currently, SSIR boasts a robust team of over 4,500 employees. With the new facility, the company is set to welcome more than 700 new members, including fresh graduates and lateral hires, to its expanding team across India.
