The Korea Semiconductor Industry Association announced on Oct. 22 that the 26th Semiconductor Exhibition (SEDEX 2024) will be held from Oct. 23-25 at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The event will feature 700 booths from 280 companies, including leading domestic semiconductor manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, as well as companies related to semiconductor design, materials, parts, and equipment that make up the domestic semiconductor ecosystem.
SEDEX 2024 promises to be a comprehensive showcase of the latest advancements in AI semiconductors and cutting-edge packaging technology. The exhibition will include a variety of lectures and seminars designed to provide an overview of the latest technology trends. Notably, SK Vice President Lee Kang-wook will deliver a keynote speech on “The Role of Semiconductor Packaging in the AI Era,” while Park Kwang-sun, CEO of Applied Materials Korea (AMK), will present on “The Future of the Semiconductor Industry, Energy-efficient Computing, and Accelerating Innovation.”
Visitors will have the opportunity to directly check the technological capabilities of leading domestic semiconductor companies. Samsung Electronics will showcase memory and storage solutions that will lead the AI era, such as HBM3E, LPDDR5X, and CMM-D/H, as well as various cutting-edge technologies including ISOCELL flagship image sensors and foundry AI turnkey solutions. SK hynix plans to exhibit next-generation AI memory such as HBM3E 12-layer, CMM-DDR5, and GDDR6-AiM, as well as the latest server DDR5 and eSSD. A separate zone will also be set up to introduce the future of the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster, which will realize SK hynix’s AI vision.
Leading domestic equipment companies such as Wonik IPS, PSK, Exicon, and Jusung Engineering will participate, along with advanced semiconductor material suppliers like Dongjin Semichem and FST. Key material companies such as Mico and KSM will also be present, allowing visitors to meet various key players in the semiconductor ecosystem.
In addition to the exhibitions, various semiconductor-related events will be held. The “Semiconductor Market Outlook Seminar” will review the semiconductor market, technology, and semiconductor policies of major countries, while the “Semiconductor Industry-Academia-Research Exchange Workshop” will cover the latest semiconductor design and foundry technology trends, including AI semiconductors, memory, and packaging technology trends.
Furthermore, in line with the fall recruitment season, a job fair with the participation of about 20 domestic semiconductor-related companies will be held from the 24th to the 25th. This event underscores the industry’s commitment to nurturing talent and supporting education in semiconductor-related fields.
The 19th annual Semiconductor Scholarship Award Ceremony will also be held this year. In addition to large companies such as Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, domestic small and medium-sized enterprises will participate, providing scholarships of 10 million won per person to 19 students majoring in semiconductor-related science and engineering fields.
