Stock market news: Taiwan Semiconductor leads high-volume stocks as Hota Industrial surges 7.15% – Business Upturn Asia

At 12:23 pm TST on Friday, 21 February 2025, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC) remained the most actively traded stock on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, rising 1.39% to 1,095 TWD. The company’s continued dominance in the semiconductor sector kept it in focus as investors tracked movements in chip stocks.
Hota Industrial MFG Co. recorded the biggest gain among high-volume stocks, surging 7.15% to 88.4 TWD.
Meanwhile, Alchip Technologies climbed 3.48% to 3,420 TWD, and Fortune Electric Co. Ltd. advanced 3.05% to 642 TWD.
Elite Advanced Laser Corp also gained 2.06%, reaching 297.0 TWD. Chung Hsin Electric & Machinery posted a modest increase of 0.62%, trading at 163.5 TWD.
As global demand for semiconductors and industrial components continues to grow, market participants are closely watching developments in Taiwan’s tech-heavy index.
