Stock market news: Taiwan Semiconductor leads trading volume as tech stocks see mixed performance – Business Upturn Asia

At 11:33 am Taiwan time on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC) recorded the highest trading volume on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, though its stock dipped 0.45% to 1,095 TWD.

Among other actively traded stocks, Phoenix Silicon International Corp surged 6.58% to 170.0 TWD, while Asia Optical Co. Inc. gained 2.22%, reaching 207.5 TWD.

However, some semiconductor and tech firms faced downward pressure, with Alchip Technologies Ltd. dropping 2.84% to 3,420 TWD and Accton Technology Corp falling 5.28% to 718 TWD. Xintec Inc. saw the sharpest decline among high-volume stocks, plunging 8.89% to 184.5 TWD.

The mixed performance of Taiwan’s major tech stocks reflects shifting investor sentiment amid global semiconductor market trends.
