Wales Women’s Six Nations Squad –Ex- England U20s’ Hesketh named

Ioan Cunningham has named a 37-player squad for the upcoming Women’s Six Nations campaign. His squad included former England U20s captain Jenny Hesketh after she impressed for club Bristol Bears.

Natalia John and Gwen Crabb return after injury, while Jasmine Joyce and Kayleigh Powell are back in the 15s mix after playing for GB sevens.

Hannah Jones will once again captain the side which also has seven uncapped players, including scrum-half Sian Jones.

There are some names usually on the team sheet that have not made the cut for this tournament. Robyn Wilkins, Carys Williams-Morris, Cerys Hale and Meg Webb all miss out.

Cunningham said: “This was the hardest squad to select since the game went professional in 2022 and there was plenty of debate within the coaching group around selection.

“This 2024 Six Nations campaign promises to be the biggest and toughest tournament so far but we are all excited to see the players named set new standards and take this team to new heights.”
